Final-year Electronics & Communication Engineering student at VSB Engineering College, currently working as an Associate Software Engineer Intern at Mphasis. I build clean, responsive interfaces — and I'm genuinely curious about where AI meets the web.
I'm Gunasekaran A, a final-year B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering student at VSB Engineering College, Karur. My path into tech started during the COVID lockdown in 11th grade, when I picked up Python out of curiosity — that curiosity turned into self-taught front-end development, a Flipkart internship, several certifications in Java, SQL and cybersecurity, and now a full-time-style internship as an Associate Software Engineer at Mphasis. I care about clean interfaces, dependable code, and steadily getting a little better every year. Scroll down for the full story.
Not a straight line — a few setbacks, a laptop I saved up for, and a lot of self-teaching along the way.
Studied with full focus and scored 89.2%.
Took the Computer Science group. During the COVID lockdown I started learning Python and tech stacks, which sparked my interest in a tech career.
Kept my tech career goals in view, researched colleges, and realized how much campus hiring mattered — which led me to VSB Engineering College, Karur.
Scored 62.7% in 12th, lower than hoped after prioritizing CS over other subjects. A tough phase — but it taught me the value of balance and planning.
Applied to VSB Engineering College through counselling and was rejected on cutoff. I didn't stop there — I got in through management quota and started in the ECE domain in 2022.
Engineering subjects were genuinely hard at first. Through repeated failures I built resilience, and cleared the year without any arrears — a real confidence boost.
Made the call to buy a laptop and go deeper into technology — the start of hands-on coding and serious self-learning.
Joined Flipkart as a Supply Chain Faculty Intern during semester break. Learned how delivery systems work and built real leadership and responsibility skills.
Built web development projects, prototyped ideas, cleared the year without arrears, and started placement training focused on Java, problem-solving and aptitude.
Completed a 30-day residential CAMP run by the placement cell — group study, hostel life, and a real boost to both technical and soft skills.
